- pee-wee's big adventure (1985) when i watch a movie that i love as much as this one, i find it a bit hard to contain my joy & end up bouncing on the couch screaming & annoying whoever might be so unfortunate as to be watching it with me. but really, i don't know why everyone doesn't have such a physical reaction while watching peewee, it really is just that good. i love the opening scene where pee-wee gets up & dressed & has his brekkie & feeds the dog, with the help of a lot of machinery. pee-wee's house is my ultimate dream. kyle noted when we were watching back to the future the other day that elaborate pet feeding contraptions were really big in 80s movies. pee-wee, back to the future, honey i shrunk the kids. yeah. i always forget that this was co-written by phil hartman & he cameos as a reporter at the end. i really wish his wife hadn't gone nuts & killed him, what a talent. hey courtney, this is just for you...(i'm a horrible friend).
- batman (1989) we were going to watch beetlejuice, but lauren said it scared her! oh lauren. so we popped on batman instead. i'm sure it's great, i could tell that it's great, but really, i was very distracted by the fact that i'd just watched pee-wee. it was all i could think about & i just wanted to put pee-wee on again. HOW GOOD IS PEE-WEE?! pee-wee.
