Livin' In The 90s Month: Day Nine

movies:
  • the firm (1993) if someone made an evil lawyers movie today, you could be all like "hey film making dude, the 1990s called, they want their evil lawyers movie back". yeah. my main complaint about this movie (apart from tom cruise being gross & creepy during sexytime scenes) is that there was only a tiny amount of gary busey & only a moderate amount of holly hunter.
i never thought i was a holly hunter person, but here i am, being one.

tv shows:
  • dinosaurs (1991-94) season one, ep 1. oh. damn. i was really looking forward to watching this show, having loved it so much when it aired, but it's kind of...not very good. or maybe it's just because it's the first episode. or maybe i loved it when i was a kid, because i was a kid & now i'm not, so i don't. except that i usually still love stuff i loved as a kid...i don't know. perhaps i'll watch another episode & see. did this have a tie-in with pizza hut? or am i confusing the land before time puppet tie-in with this? oh man, i wish i still had those land before time puppets.
  • caroline in the city (1995-99) season one, ep 5. goddamn, no one ever locks their doors in sitcoms, do they? anyone can just walk right in, whenever they like. TOTALLY UNNERVING.
  • sliders (1995-2000) season three, eps 1-4. corey feldman guest stars in ep 3 & it made my heart all happy. as in, seeing him in anything post-80s makes me all heart happy, like, 'yay, feldman employment'. also, quinn's hair is looking amazing at the moment.
food & drink:
  • awful coffee & dunkaroos.
  • holy shit, ok ok ok, do this: spread le snak cheese on cracker, dip in tomato cup-a-soup, eat that shit. dee-farkin-licious.
  • kit kat. i didn't realise that kit kat chunky came out in the 90s until later in the night, when i was watching a bunch of 1997 ads. totally would've got one of those instead.
  • diet dr pepper + watermelon & strawberries.
  • pizzaaaaaaa. pizza is rather 90s. i think it's a ninja turtle thing.
  • vienetta.
musings/other:
1996. that smashing pumpkins 'zero' t-shirt was a pretty hot item at the time. i wish i'd kept every one of those bloody army disposal store backpacks i had over my teenage years. love to know what was written all over them. actually, it's probably just a lot of song lyrics & "______ is a dick, hur hur" & "i love ________".
